How do we strengthen our community economy?

Thrive PEC has come together as an alliance of individuals, businesses, organizations and community stakeholders who share a passion for connecting the community, as well as a vision for catalyzing positive change.

What We Do

Community Conversations

Asset Mapping

Capacity Building

Planning for Renewal

Economic Action Plan

Thrive is a process to identify the future of the community

and a way to build confidence in community actors to help realize that future

Why is Thrive needed?

Prince Edward County is facing pressing issues including:

  • Emerging from COVID-19
  • Alleviating the housing crisis
  • Decreasing the disparity between “haves” and “have nots”
  • Easing dissension and frustration among residents and businesses
  • Adapting to changing demographics
  • Diversifying and strengthening our economy
  • Attracting and retaining capital investment
  • Preparing for the future

These are complex issues that require input from diverse groups, businesses & citizens

It’s not something that community groups can tackle by themselves. Nor is it something that local businesses can take on by themselves. Nor is it the responsibility of the municipality alone.

We all need to work together.

“When you love where you live, you really want to see it succeed. You want it to be what it can be. That doesn’t mean a faster version or a newer version. It means we have all these folks who are really willing to spend their time and energy on making town great."

"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about."
