Neighbourhood Small Grants
Apply now for a $50 – $500 micro-grant from The County Foundation
The Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) program supports people who want to make their communities better places to live. Our grants range from $50 to $500.
A grant is money we give you to bring your project to life. You must apply for the grant, but you do not need to pay the money back.
Neighbourhood Small Grants are based on a simple but powerful idea – when people feel a sense of belonging to their neighbourhood, they are more likely to be engaged in activities that make it a better place.
When people are active in the life of their neighbourhood, our communities are strengthened from the ground up.
The Neighbourhood Small Grants program supports residents like you who have small but powerful ideas to bring people together to make their neighbourhood vibrant.
The County Foundation is giving grants from $50 to $500 to support projects that bring people together, share skills and knowledge, build a sense of belonging and responsibility, and respect and celebrate diversity. You must apply for the grant, but you do not need to pay the money back.
Youth
Youth in Prince Edward County have some really great ideas, to support that we are committing at least 30% of the Neighbourhood Small Grants to be directed towards eligible youth projects.
Goals
The goals of the Neighbourhood Small Grants program are to:
- Connect and engage neighbourhood residents (e.g. a block party or a social gathering)
- Share residents’ skills and knowledge (e.g. yoga instructor teaching a free class)
- Build a sense of ownership and pride (e.g. cleaning up an alleyway)
- Respect and celebrate diversity (e.g. multicultural community kitchen) idea
- Inspiration – What are some ideas of neighbourhood small grants?
