Inspiring Community Conversations

Community Economies Pilot Project in PEC

On May 30th and 31st, a series of interactive community conversations featured Fogo Island visionary and Shorefast founder Zita Cobb, and Mary Rowe of the Canadian Urban Institute and My Main Street initiative.

These sessions were incredibly inspiring and filled with great ideas and enthusiasm.

The initial goal of Thrive PEC is to host community conversations, but through the frame of Asset-Based Community Development. Essentially, this is a glass-half-full approach, one that looks at what a community has and can build on.

Read the comprehensive coverage by Sarah Williams of The Picton Gazette — “Thrive PEC begins roadmap for sustainable future with community discussions”. Thanks to Tony Walton for the photos.

There will be more opportunities to participate. Sign up to our mailing list to be included in updates.
