Picton Community Gardens

Prince Edward County’s first community gardens; located at Picton’s Delhi Park. We grow food for our families, the food banks & community groups. The goals include increasing access to healthy food, providing positive environmental impact, learning, and social connectedness.

The municipality has provided use of the land and a Community Grant for start-up expenses such as tools. Community volunteers manage, construct and maintain the garden. PEC Master Gardeners provide an educational component.

Other active partners include The Storehouse Foodbank, Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation, The Hub Child and Family Centre, Community Development Council of Quinte, Prince Edward Learning Centre, Community Living PE and Food to Share.

This project is also part of a larger initiative, the Hastings-Prince Edward Community Gardens Network, which brings together community garden organizers, garden members and supporters throughout the region to share resources, provide education and advocate for support at higher levels.
